PLAMORF scientists from Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology achieved a breakthrough in plant breeding, as they just reported in the prestigious journal Nature Biotechnology. They combined a mobile version of the CRISPR tool – aka “genetic scissors” – with grafting for speedy and simple development of novel, genetically stable commercial crop varieties.
